An Accra Human Rights Court has adjourned a case involving two citizens and the Ministry of Communications over the $178.8 million Kelni-GVG contract. The case was adjourned by Justice Anthony Yeboah to Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Before adjourning the case in his chamber, Justice Yeboah bemoaned a late receipt of process hence his inability to study the documents. Sara Asafu-Adjaye and Maximus Amertogoh want the Minister of Communications, the National Communications Authority (NCA), Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Attorney General, the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and the telecommunications networks to cease the traffic monitoring. A woman with a rare blood cancer is being denied a life-saving transplant from her brother because he doesn’t earn enough, a charity has said. Shirley Kordie, 33, has hypoplastic MDS and will leave her son, Blessing, four, without a mother if she is not treated. Akon says he’s planning to release a new cryptocurrency named after himself – called Akoin. Speaking at the Cannes Lions Festival on Monday, the Locked Up singer said he believed cryptocurrency could be “the saviour of Africa”.
