The Ghana Police Service has warned holders of registered firearm to beware of the regulations guiding discharge. The Service observed that possessing a registered firearm must be in conformity with the Firearms Act, 1962 (Act 118). This admonition comes after the police arrested suspect Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as Cyborg, for discharging a high-calibre firearm at the AfroFuture Festival held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium. British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua has been injured in a car crash in Nigeria, which killed two members of his team. The former world champion was a passenger in a Lexus SUV that collided with a stationary truck on a major expressway in Ogun State, near Lagos. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, has labelled as a “joke” recent calls by the Minority in Parliament for a bi-partisan probe into the recent losses of the state’s gold-buying firm.
