African business magnate Aliko Dangote has praised President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as a rapid turnaround of Ghana’s economy, attributing the improvement to the restoration of confidence in the country. Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has raised alarm over the alleged arrest and detention of Salomey Awity Bafoh, whose whereabouts remain unknown. Ghana can avoid future International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailouts if the country adopts the gold-backed monetary framework championed by former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia while maintaining strict fiscal discipline, Tano North MP, Gideon Boako, has said.
