The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested three persons in connection with the attempted importation of approximately five million tablets of tramadol with an estimated street value of about GH¢100 million. The suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation at the Accra International Airport after officials intercepted a shipment believed to contain the illicit pharmaceutical drugs. The National Identification Authority (NIA), in partnership with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), will commence a special Ghana Card registration exercise for eligible Ghanaians living in selected communities along the Ghana-Burkina Faso border from Monday, July 13 to Thursday, August 6, 2026. According to the NIA, the exercise will be conducted in the Sissala West and Lambussie Districts of the Upper West Region, as well as the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region. More than 10 young men and women from the Bole-Bamboi Constituency have successfully graduated as members of the Feed Ghana Brigades, a flagship initiative aimed at strengthening Ghana’s agricultural sector through youth participation. The Concerned Citizens Association of Maamobi of Maamobi Number 2 Market Kasoakuda has petitioned the Commission of Human Rights And Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) over the forced eviction of residents within the Maamobi enclave .
