Some law graduates who failed the Ghana School of Law entrance examination have sued the General Legal Council (GLC) seeking a review of their results or remarking of the examination papers. Of the 1,820 LLB graduates who sat the exam on July 26 this year, only 128 passed to get admission to pursue the professional law course. An Accra Circuit Court has adjourned the case involving the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, also known as NAM 1, and two others to November 20. The court presided by Mrs Jane Harriet Akweley Quaye adjourned the matter due to the absent of the Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Sylvester Asare. The Jospong Group of Companies, with the help of the Hungarian Government, has secured a 20 million-euro facility for various Developmental projects in Ghana. Jospong and its Hungarian partners, Pureco, concluded discussions and signed the contract that will see the construction of the Takoradi and Tamale Waste Water Treatment Plants to be managed by the Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited (SSGL), a subsidiary of the Jospong Group. Rising water level of the Black Volta has forced operators of the Bui hydro dam to initiate a major spillage of excess water to safeguard the integrity of the dam. As at October 23, the water level in dam had reached 182.81 metres; less than one metre to hit the maximum water level of 183 metres above sea level. This is due to the continuous rainfall currently being recorded across the country. Protesters in eastern Ethiopia have burnt copies of a new book by prime minister and Nobel Peace Prize winner Abiy Ahmed in a show of solidarity with an opposition media activist. Jawar Mohammed had said the government was removing security from his home in the capital, which officials denied. This triggered protests outside his compound and elsewhere in the country. Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, Cassiel Ato Forson, has literally abandoned his colleague MP, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in a brother for not being ‘decorous and honourable’.
