There is currently a disturbing development on the construction of the Bolgatanga-Bawku road. The diversions that were created to aid vehicular traffic and to make way for smooth construction work have done more harm than good to motorists and commuters. The road is now in a very deplorable state. On rainy days, it becomes so muddy that vehicles get stuck there for weeks. The road users and residents around the diversion are getting frustrated by the day. The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has denied conferring any award on the Chief Executive Officer of Marwako Fast Food, Alhaji Marwan Mohammed Chaaban. Chair of the Electoral Commission, Ghana Charlotte Osei is demanding the full list of the Concern Staff of the Electoral Commission, members of which have petitioned the President to remove her from office. Mrs Osei, through her lawyers, wrote to the lawyer of the group of EC staff following news of their petition. The Tarkwa Police Station has arrested 10 Chinese nationals suspected to be engaged in illegal mining. The 10 were caught in the act at a site at Efua Nta Kamponase opposite the Tarkwa Senior High School in the Western Region. They were arrested Wednesday afternoon following a tip-off by a group called Volunteers Against Illegal Mining, whose members have been employed under the Ministry for Lands and Natural Resources. Provisional results of the 2017 May/June West African Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) have been released, according to the West African Examination Council (Waec). The results are currently on the website of the nation’s exam-supervising body as the hard copies are being readied to be despatched to the various schools. Candidates can, therefore, access the results online.
