Two financial analysts have predicted the Ghanaian cedi, which has been depreciating against major trading currencies, will stabilise by the end of the first quarter of the year. The cedi has in the last few days seen a marginal appreciation against the US dollar and currently sells at GHC4.30 dollars to a dollar. Investigation by the Ghana Education Service in the Upper West Region has revealed that senior high school girls in the region are being lured into relationships with men, including married men. According the Regional Education Directorate, its survey has showed an alarming rate at which the school girls are being lured with mobile phones by the men, and has warned against the practice. A one-sided Parliament Wednesday approved the 2017 budget and financial policy of government that was presented to it by Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta without the support of the Minority. The Minority in Parliament walked out of the chamber prior to the approval of the budget. An electrician who inserted his finger into the vagina of a four-year-old girl whilst carrying her at his back has been sentenced to six-month imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court. This was after the court had found Kofi Mensah aged 47, guilty on the charge of indecent assault. Prosecuting Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire told the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku that the complainant was a trader living at Akraman near Amasaman. The Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMCs) has pledged its support for the newly appointed Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Alhassan S. Tampuli, to ensure a successful tenure. Information available to Onua FM from Banda Ahenkro suggests that all the schools in the area have been closed down on the orders of the Ghana Education Service. A man believed to be in his 50s has allegedly committed suicide at Saaka, a farming community at Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.
