In an attempt to fight the menace of plastic waste and also bridge the housing deficit gap in Ghana, a young man in his thirties has come out with an innovation to build houses using plastic bottles. The new innovation is 33-percent cheaper than the traditional form of building a house and 20 times stronger than concrete, according to the inventor. A member of the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party, George Ayisi Boateng, has told critics of the Akufo-Addo government that the GHC1.5 billion budgetary allocation to the presidency will be used judiciously. A freak accident involving a fully loaded articulated truck has left at least 16 vehicles damaged at a popular place called Commando in Accra New Town. The truck was said to have failed breaks on the sloppy street where more than 60 vehicles, mainly private vehicles, were parked and rammed into a number of them. No casualty was recorded in the accident which occurred at about 2:00pm Monday. A total of 60 electronic libraries are to be established across the country as part of Ghana’s 60 years anniversary celebration. The establishment of the e-library would help deprived areas in the country to develop skills in computer education, as well as replace the old educational system with a contemporary one where ICT will be more practical. The Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwasi Manu Duku, has called on the judiciary and the Western Regional House of Chiefs to expedite chieftaincy cases before them in a bid to ensure peace in the region.
