When nominations closed on Tuesday March 7, only two persons filed to contest the presidential slot of the Ghana Olympic Committee’s upcoming election. A Cameroonian student in Ghana who allegedly inserted his finger into the vagina of a four-year-old girl at Kwashieman in Accra has been put before an Accra Circuit Court. Yves Martial Ekobe has pleaded not guilty to indecent assault, and the court presided over by Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku remanded him into Police custody to appear again on March 8 for continuation of hearing. Members of the parliamentary press corps have been urged by the leadership of Parliament to properly study the Standing Orders of the house to enable them report accurately. The Abeka District Court Wednesday remanded a Lebanese branch manager of Mawarko Restaurant located at Abelenkpe, Jihad Thaabn, for allegedly assaulting a female staff. He is alleged to have dipped the face of one Evelyn Boakye, a caterer at the restaurant, into a blended pepper and locked her up for hours. He had pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault, offensive conduct and causing harm.
