The Ghana Health Service says the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research has confirmed nine (9) new cases of COVID-19 on March 31, 2020. Lawyers in Accra, Tema, Kasoa and Kumasi have been directed to stay home as they not part of the category of critical staff exempted from the two-week partial lockdown which begun in parts of the country. All 82 students of the University of Ghana who were quarantined for having contact with a coronavirus infected person have tested negative for the virus that has killed five persons in the country. Additional 12 employees of the University have also tested negative for the virus, the university authorities announced Monday. No new case of the novel coronavirus has been recorded in Ghana in the last 24 hours, the Ghana Health Service announced on Monday jut few hours after parts of the country begun a two-week partial lockdown to stem the tide in the spread of the deadly virus.
