Cargill Cares has successfully completed a community outreach program at the Mampong Demonstration School for the Deaf, combining healthcare support with an Easter celebration that benefited hundreds of students.

The initiative, held on Saturday, March 28, forms part of Cargill Cares’ ongoing commitment to community development and social impact in Ghana.

The outreach focused on improving healthcare access for students while also celebrating the Easter season through acts of generosity and fellowship.

As part of the project, Cargill Cares furnished the doctors’ consulting room and two wards of the school’s clinic.

The facility had recently undergone renovation through the support of Worship Tabernacle Shaping Lives, and the furnishing provided by Cargill Cares helps ensure the clinic is better equipped to serve the health needs of the students.

To further strengthen the clinic’s capacity, Cargill Cares also donated essential medical consumables to support routine healthcare services for the students and staff of the school.

Beyond healthcare support, the outreach included a special Easter celebration for approximately 600 students.

The students were treated to a buffet lunch and received a variety of food and essential items to support their nutritional needs.Items donated included 20 bags of 25kg rice (Lele), 10 gallons of Frytol oil (25 litres each), 20 cartons of oats (20 × 500g), five cartons of Gino tomato paste (24 × 425g), five bags of sugar (50kg each), 10 crates of Milo (12 × 400g), 10 trays of Ideal Milk (24 × 150g), 10 packs of toilet rolls, 10 cartons of noodles, 10 cartons of mackerel (425g × 24), and 10 cartons of Lele spaghetti.

Speaking during the event, the Managing Director of Cargill Ghana, Max Essoh Latte, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to making a positive difference in communities, particularly in education and health.

“We are delighted to support the Mampong Demonstration School for the Deaf, not only by improving their healthcare facilities but also by sharing the joy of Easter with the students. This initiative reflects our continued commitment to nurturing communities and empowering lives,” he said.

The school’s administration expressed gratitude to Cargill Cares for the support, noting that the intervention would significantly enhance healthcare services and improve the wellbeing of the students.

Through initiatives like this, Cargill Cares continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating sustainable impact and improving the quality of life in the communities where it operates.
