The Management of Ghana Water Company Limited, has introduced a temporary billing regime to bill its customers. President Nana Akufo-Addo has granted amnesty to 808 convict prisoners serving various terms including persons on death row. The decision was taken upon the recommendation of the Prisons Service Council and in consultation with the Council of State. A 41-year old gardener, Martin Dogbe, who subjected his 16-year-old daughter to consistent sexual abuse has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court. Dogbe is said to have commenced his sexual escapade, when the victim was 11 years old. He was said to have given his daughter drugs to abort anytime the victim became pregnant and continued his sexual acts as soon as the fetus was aborted. United Nations chief Antonio Guterres has launched an appeal for $2bn in international humanitarian aid to help poorer countries tackle the coronavirus pandemic, as the death toll in Italy and Spain continued to climb. Ghana’s Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang-Manu has declared the country is now adequately prepared logistically, to deal with the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus cases.
