The Kaneshie District Court has rejected the move by lawyers for ACP Dr. Benjamin Agordzo to have him released after the state substituted a new charge sheet for the earlier one. The court took the decision after Martin Kpebu counsel for the embattled Assistant Commissioner of Police, asked the court to release his client because the state substituted the old charge sheet. Two concerts in South Africa expected to feature Nigerian star Burna Boy have been cancelled following “increasing threats of violence”, a statement from the organisers says. He had been scheduled to appear at what were dubbed the Africans Unite concerts in Cape Town and Pretoria at the weekend. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released appointment letters for teachers who applied for recruitment into the service. According to the GES, the latest recruitment is targeted at person who have completed and passed the College of Education exams in 2018 and have also passed their licensure exams in 2018/ 2019. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released provisional results of private candidates who sat for the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE). Per a release issued by WAEC, some 102, 278 candidates comprising of 51, 935 males and 55, 488 females registered for the exams. Out of the total number, 5, 145 absentees were recorded. Results of some 753 candidates have been withheld for allegedly engaging in various forms of examination malpractices, one of which is bringing mobile phones into the exams hall.
