Petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are expected to become cheaper in the first pricing window of July after the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) announced significant reductions in the official price floors for petroleum products. According to the latest industry pricing notice, the minimum price for petrol has been reduced from GH¢13.39 per litre during the second pricing window of June to GH¢12.79 per litre for the first pricing window of July. The Forum for Responsible Resource Governance (FRRG) has described the Ghana Gold Board’s planned nationwide land reclamation initiative as unlawful, arguing that the agency lacks the statutory authority to undertake and finance such a project under its establishing legislation. Former Chief Executive Officer of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), now known as GoldBod, Nana Akwasi Awuah, has disclosed that he routinely rejected award offers that required financial commitments while serving as head of the state-owned entity. The Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Wisdom Kwaku Deku, has stated that the Ghana Card has significantly improved identity verification and inclusion across the country, while gaining international recognition within the ECOWAS sub-region and beyond.
