The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has published a list of 20 mobile loan applications operating in the country without the requisite licence or authorisation, warning the public against engaging with them.
In a notice dated Monday, August 3, 2026, the central bank said it had observed the continued operation of digital credit service providers offering loans to Ghanaians through unlicensed channels, in violation of the Directive for Digital Credit Service Providers in Ghana (September 2025).
The apps named by the Bank are: Adamfo Loan, Agyapacredit, Amanfi Loan, Arco Cash, Aya Lend, Bucks Now, CediGo, CGrab, DumboCash, FCash, Gh Loans, Gh Loans Pro, Hasty Credit, Newgry Money Tree, Omanpesa, PoPoCedi, Ready Money, Sika Tap, Sikapa Loan, and Zigwe Loan.
The BoG said the operations of these entities constitute significant violations of customer data privacy, consumer protection, and established regulatory standards.
The Bank noted it will continue to collaborate with relevant state institutions to identify, investigate, and take appropriate enforcement action against such entities to safeguard consumers and protect the integrity of the financial sector.
It strongly advised the general public not to engage with unlicensed loan providers, while cautioning banks, Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions (SDIs), and Payment Service Providers (PSPs) against facilitating or processing transactions on their behalf.
Members of the public who become aware of the activities of unlicensed loan providers have been encouraged to report them to the Bank’s Fintech and Innovation Department.
