Bawumia Used Impostor To Bait Diplomats Into NPP Meeting

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent move to gather diplomatic representatives in Ghana for a discussion on his campaign strategy has sparked widespread outrage. The shocking revelation has now unveiled a deceitful attempt revolving around a shady individual.

Any diplomat who responded to the invitation for the partisan meeting was directed to an impersonator named Lexy Owusu-Boahene.

Ms. Owusu-Boahene, masquerading as the protocol contact for the meeting, falsely claims to hold the title of Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization.

Despite promoting this fraudulent role on various social media platforms, including LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter), she has no association with the Ministry.

More alarmingly, Lexy Owusu-Boahene exploited a fabricated company name to secure a contract from the Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited (GTDC).

After receiving half a million cedis through this deception, she and her fictitious company vanished without a trace. As investigative inquiries into her dubious activities intensified, The New Republic unearthed her involvement in Vice President Bawumia’s invitation to diplomatic missions in Ghana, scheduled for September 6th, 2024.

The invitation, purportedly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, requests the attendance of Head of Missions at a briefing session on Dr. Bawumia’s 2024 Presidential Campaign at Kempinski Hotel, Accra.

Missions were directed to confirm attendance or seek further information through Lexy Boahene at diplomaticliaison24@gmail.com or 0502429959. Subsequent attempts to verify her identity and clarify discrepancies surrounding her job title were met with evasion and contradictory responses from Ms. Owusu-Boahene.

The trail of deceit leads to her falsified employment status as Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, a position she falsely claims to hold on LinkedIn and X.

Furthermore, her declaration of ownership of non-existent company LXHR Solutions, which purportedly received payments for auditing services, raises additional concerns. Investigations uncovered that the alleged audit contract involving Dufry AG was orchestrated by GTDC CEO Kwadwo Antwi Odame, with ulterior motives.

The truth behind Dufry AG’s audit status refutes claims of a legitimate engagement, casting further doubt on the integrity of the transactions. Critics, including MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, have condemned the invitation to diplomatic mission heads as a breach of diplomatic protocol.

Ablakwa emphasized the unprofessional nature of leveraging the Foreign Ministry for partisan campaign purposes, emphasizing the need to uphold diplomatic standards of neutrality.

The perplexing saga surrounding Lexy Owusu-Boahene and Vice President Bawumia’s embroilment in dubious dealings casts a shadow of suspicion over the intersection of politics and diplomacy in Ghana.
