Former Vice President and 2028 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has welcomed two flagbearer contestants to his residence.
This comes after he won the presidential primaries on Saturday, January 31.
Former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Yaw Adutwum and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, who is a serial contestant, were among five people who contested primaries.
Dr. Bawumia emerged victorious with 56.48% of valid votes cast.
Following their concession, telephone calls to Bawumia and address during the official declaration of results at the party’s headquarters on Saturday, the party stalwarts paid separate visits to the reelected flagbearer.
Dr. Bawumia, who has been receiving party members and well wishers at his residence in Accra, welcomed Dr. Adutwum on Sunday, while he received Kwabena Agyepong and his wife on Monday morning.
The two, once again, congratulated the new leader and also pledged their support and loyalty to the cause of the NPP.
Dr. Bawumia also thanked them for their visit and pledged as well as reiterated his quest to unite the party for the task ahead.
Several members of the party, friends, family and well wishers have been trooping the home of the former Vice President to congratulate him.
