Police have confirmed the arrest of the gang leader of the Berekum Chelsea attack that resulted in the death of one player.
Another suspect has also been arrested following a crossfire on Wednesday, April 15.
In a statement issued same day, the police said: “One of the suspects sustained injuries during an exchange of fire with the police intelligence teams and has been conveyed to the hospital for medical attention.”
They promised further details will be communicated.
The attack at Ahyiresu on the Bibiani-Kwame Dwumor Sreso stretch in the Nyinahin District occurred on Sunday night while the team was returning from a Ghana Premier League match.
Striker Dominic Frimpong, who played a part in the game against FC Samartex, sustained head injuries from which he could not recover.
