Ghanaian actress Priscilla Opoku Agyeman, popularly known as Ahoufe Patri, has revealed that she encountered sex-for-roles proposals early in her acting career.
The actress, who gained fame through the popular ‘Boys Kasa’ skits with Kalybos, shared her experience in an interview on Max TV.
She added that the issue of sex-for-roles is not limited to the movie industry but exists in many other professions as well.
“The issue of sex for roles is prevalent everywhere, not just in the movie industry. I remember when I was about 19 years old, I met a producer who was interested in what I had to offer, but he insisted on getting to know me in a more personal way,” she revealed.
At the time, Ahoufe Patri said she was new to the industry and still finding her path.
She explained that while she was eager to land roles, she was unwilling to compromise her values.
“At that time, I had a boyfriend whom I was deeply in love with, and I couldn’t imagine doing something like that with another man. The producer became angry,” she recalled.
She further mentioned that years later, the same producer unknowingly crossed paths with her again. By then, she had already become a well-known actress.
“Years later, when I became known as Ahoufe Patri, the same producer didn’t recognise me and told me he was a big fan,” she recounted.
