Ghana’s economy continues to enjoy positive inflationary impact as January recorded a further decline in the year-on-year rate.
From 5.4 percent recorded in December, 2024, Government Statistician Dr Alhassan Iddrisu announced that January recorded an inflation of 3.8 percent.
According to Dr Iddrisu, the figure is the lowest since rebasing of the Consumer Price Index in 2021.
“In plain language, this means that on the average, prices were 3.8% higher in January 2026 than they were in January 2025.”
The new figure marks the 13th consecutive monthly decline in inflation in Ghana.
“When we compare this figure to the same rate last year, when inflation stood at 23.5%, we see a 19.7% point reduction inflation
“This sustained decline signals that Ghana is certainly on the path towards price stability.”
