In a significant show of support, Naa Professor Edmund Delle, the Paramount Chief of Nandom Traditional Area in the Upper West Region, has publicly backed John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

During a recent meeting between Mahama and the Nandom Traditional Council, Naa Delle left no doubt about his endorsement, expressing his confidence in Mahama’s ability to lead Ghana forward. Referring to Mahama as the future President, Naa Delle emphasized his belief that Mahama is the right person to guide the nation in these critical times.

“We see you as the one to lead us into the future,” the chief declared firmly by Mahama’s side. Highlighting the importance of local development, Naa Delle urged Mahama to prioritize Nandom, stressing the need for equal opportunities for its residents.

“When you come back, remember Nandom. Our people need the same opportunities as the rest of the country,” he emphasized. Recognizing Mahama’s political experience and leadership skills, Naa Delle commended the former president for his past achievements and expressed confidence in his ability to tackle Ghana’s current challenges.

Drawing a comparison to Mahama’s rival in the upcoming election, whom he referred to without naming, Naa Delle depicted Mahama as the experienced driver familiar with the nation’s path while the opponent is still learning the ropes.

However, the chief’s endorsement came with a cautionary note, urging Mahama to lead with wisdom and avoid the corruption that has hindered Ghana’s progress under the current government.

“This country needs a change, but it must be a change that is free from the mistakes of the past,” Naa Delle advised, calling for a clean and progressive leadership.

Seen as a beacon of hope and integrity by the Nandom people and beyond, Mahama symbolizes the leadership qualities they aspire to a blend of experience, integrity, and a strong commitment to advancement.

Assuring Mahama of his and the Nandom people’s unwavering support, Naa Delle pledged to stand by him every step of the way.

“You have our full support. We are with you, and we will do everything to ensure your success,” the chief promised, reflecting the sentiments of the council and the community he represents.
