It appears the singer who performed Ryan Shupe’s ‘Dream Big’ on Sunday, May 12, did not impress judges that much as compared with her other colleagues.
Since this is a competition and one person gotta go home, the axe sadly fell on her. Getting to this far in the competition is no mean achievement, but for ‘non-performance’ on such a critical day and the lack of adequate public votes to keep her in the race to become Ghana’s ‘Most Talented Kid’.
Joelyn is the last to exit the competition, as the remaining eight contestants are through to the finals slated for June 2, at the National Theater.
On Sunday night, May 12, all contestants came through with exciting performances to entertain studio audience and viewers at home.
The show kicked off with a thrilling performance from Prince Okyere who was honoured to have performed ‘Belembe’ with legendary highlife singer Bessa Simons who originally composed the song.
He was followed by Nene the Saxophonist who played a tune by music trio, Praye – ‘Wodin’.
Then came, Ebenezer the dancer, who did not fail to give off his best on the dance floor, as his moves were infused with some creativity championing ‘cleanliness’.
The ever adorable, Nakeeyat the poet was next on stage, and she recited a corruption-themed poem.
Irene the Saxophonist also did not fail to live up to judges expectation, as she performed Stonebwoy’s ‘Come from far’ on the Sax.
Singer Shirley sang AB Crentsil’s ‘Abusua Kyire Ka’ on the night.
The energetic, Tordey dancers were at it again as they came in dancing to Kpanlogo and Gome mixes.
Ashaiman rapper, SconzyGH wrapped up the show, performing his own song, ‘Banger’ which studio audience and judges all grooved to.
At the end of the show, Nakeeyat the poet emerged as the ‘Star performer’
Tordey dancers were also adjudged ‘most creative’ contestants.
