A Form 2 student of Prang Senior High School met his untimely death on Friday when a truck loaded with yam rammed into a crowd at Makango in the Savannah Region.
It is unclear what caused the accident but the student was part of mourners who were run over by the truck.
Four persons including the student died on the spot while several others suffered various degrees of injury.
The student, 20, had returned home due to the ongoing striker by three teacher unions.
The strike was declared by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and Pre-Tertiary Teachers Association of Ghana (PRETAG) on Friday, September 25.
