Sukparu praises Dodo Technologies as a model of homegrown innovation powering Africa’s digital transformation

Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Mohammed Adam Sukparu, has hailed Dodo Technologies as a model for Africa’s digital future, praising the homegrown tech firm for building world-class solutions capable of transforming communication and productivity across the continent.

Speaking on behalf of Sector Minister Hon. Samuel Nartey George at the Dodo Summit 2025, the Deputy Minister said the company’s mission to eliminate fragmented communication aligns directly with Ghana’s national digital transformation agenda. He noted that institutions and businesses across Africa continue to struggle with emails, calls, messages and customer interactions scattered across multiple unlinked platforms a challenge that slows efficiency and hampers service delivery.

Sukparu commended Dodo Technologies, founded by young Ghanaian innovators, for designing an intelligent unified communication ecosystem that integrates internal operations, public engagement and customer interaction into a single platform. He highlighted Dodo’s flagship products, Workplace, Messenger, Omni, Widget and its AI infrastructure as proof that African developers are not only catching up with global trends but leading with solutions tailored to local needs.

Artificial intelligence, he said, is reshaping global industries, and Africa cannot afford to remain on the sidelines. Companies like Dodo, he argued, demonstrate that the continent has both the talent and vision to build transformative digital systems.

The Deputy Minister also praised the company’s partnerships with telecom operators, infrastructure providers and data centres, describing them as examples of how multi-sector collaboration accelerates national development. By building a strong ecosystem around innovation, he said, Ghana is positioning itself as a competitive player in the global digital economy.

Sukparu highlighted the Dodo Academy as one of the company’s most impactful initiatives, calling it a “crucial pipeline” for training young Africans in advanced digital skills, AI development and modern engineering. Empowering young people, he stressed, is essential for sustaining the continent’s digital acceleration.

He urged policymakers, private sector leaders and innovators to support efforts to build a more connected Africa, one where communication is seamless, data-driven decision-making becomes the norm, and technology underpins economic progress.

Hon. Sukparu congratulated Dodo Technologies for its leadership in Africa’s emerging digital landscape and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to partnering with local tech companies developing solutions to national challenges. “This is the future we envision — African-built technology powering African development,” he said.
