Former President Kufuor’s legal advisor has thrown shade at ex-VP Mahamudu Bawumia’s audacity to run for president in the recent election.
Victoria Bright, former confidante to Kufuor, slammed Bawumia’s dismal economic performance and questioned his decision to aim for the top job. She criticized the NPP stalwart for failing to live up to his economic promises, suggesting he should have stepped aside instead.
Despite Kufuor’s public support for Bawumia during the election, Bright stood her ground, emphasizing the economic woes faced by Ghanaians under NPP’s rule. She believed that a fresh face unassociated with the government would have fared better in the polls.
Bright’s bold statements reflect a rift within the NPP, highlighting concerns over Bawumia’s suitability as a leader. As the dust settles on the election defeat, questions linger over the party’s future direction and leadership choices.”
