Tuesday morning will definitely be a memorable one for the many who logged in to Facebook to watch talented singer Wiyaala’s live concert.
As parts of Ghana are currently under lockdown due to the deadly coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, the singer treated her numerous fans to a rare concert from her home in her hometown Funsi, in the Upper West Region.
Backed by her sister, Nancy, and with the aid of a guitar, Wiyaala performed some of her known songs including ‘Tuma (No Food For The Lazy Man)’, ‘Leno’, ‘Rock My Body’, ‘Sun & Moon’, ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Africa’.
She also did a mush-up of some popular songs. Wiyaala laced her hour-long acoustic performances with beautiful stories behind some of the songs.
The highpoint of the concert was when she invited her mum to join her perform ‘Woyaya (We Are Going)’. According to her, her mum inspired certain aspects of the song.
Born Noella Wiyaala, the singer showed her music prowess when she asked fans to type out words or sentences for her to form a song with. She nailed that performance effortlessly.
This was Wiyaala’s first-ever Facebook Live session and she promised to organise similar concerts in the coming days.
She urged Ghanaians to adhere to strict hygienic practices, including constantly washing their hands and using sanitizers.
“…we gonna roar Coronavirus out…this will pass…” she said.
