Thirty people who allegedly attacked a team of police personnel on duty at Libga, a community near Savelugu in the Northern Region, have been arrested.
A single-barrel gun was retrieved from one of them, a woman, following a search on her, the Police said.
The 13 were put before court Wednesday and three of them, including the woman, were granted bail while the others were remanded into prison custody to appear again on September 2.
What happened?
The officers were said to have gone to the community Wednesday dawn in pursuit of a suspect, Iddrisu Ziblim, to assist in investigations into a case of causing harm.
In trying to prevent the arrest of the suspect, the residents allegedly launched attack on the officers and also damaged a police official vehicle they were using.
A distress call was made following which reinforcement was deployed from the Northern Regional Police headquarters who managed to arrest the 13 suspects
