The second edition of Connect FM’s Street Rap Battle took off at Effiakuma in the Western Region with great performances from 14 underground rap artistes.
After close to three hours of performances, Effiakuma proved to be the cradle of rap music in Sekondi-Takoradi as the competitiors put up feet-tapping and head-nodding performances.
The underground rap artistes stepped up to show what they are made of.
Four of them participated in the first edition with one – Yaw King – even making it to the finals.
With rap beats of their choice, the artistes dazzled the crowd with one lyrical bar after the other.
Some of them quickly worked on the crowd and in a matter of seconds left them chanting their names.
One of them, APENDICULAR, who could not proceed to the semi-finals of last year’s edition, was able to work on the crowd with his line – APPENDICULAR, YOU KNOW ME!!!!
However, it was CRAYON who was able to colour his way into the hearts of the judges.
Even though his rap was not the ideal one, the antics of one of the artiste, ANIGYE SK, on stage perhaps made him the crowd’s favourite.
In the end, the judges selected APPENDICULAR, YAW KING, CRAYON and Kwame Speechless to meet others who will be selected in the remaining three zones for the semi-finals.
