Award-winning Ghanaian hip-hop artiste Kwesi Arthur has a signature appearance of always performing bare-chested on stage. Though this is not unusual for hip-hop and some hip-life artistes, the artiste argues that it is one of his iconic styles, and that it distinguishes him and energizes his performance as well. Kwesi Arthur disclosed this in an interview on 3FM’s Sunrise morning show, where he explained the idea behind going shirtless whenever he performs. “It is the vibe; like the energy around it is just crazy. So whenever I am performing, I just take off my shirt, and the reaction is crazy.” Asked why a lot of the youth in ghettos identify with his music, the ‘Grind day’ crooner said young people are able to identify with the kind of content he churns out through his music. “I feel like music is our escape, like in this country so many things are going on. Music is the only thing that keeps the youth entertained. “Because if you think about what is going on, you will be angry and do something you might regret. So the music keeps us entertained,” he noted. Kwesi Arthur is out with his latest album titled ‘Live From Nkrumah Krom-Home Run’, and it is on iTunes, Spotify and other music platforms. It features the likes of Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Nasty C and other artistes. By Paul Selorm Agbo | 3news.com | Ghana]]>
