Ghana’s Naa Densua Aryeetey re-elected onto Wista Int’l ExCo

The Head of Shippers Services and Trade Facilitation at the Ghana Shippers Authority, Naa Densua Aryeetey, has been re-elected to a third term as an Executive Committee member of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (Wista).

She has, by that, been also re-elected as the chair for African region.

By her role, Naa Densua Aryeetey has successfully facilitated development and collaboration throughout the Africa region and re-activation of Wista with Africa.

“My re-election as the chair of the African region is a testament of the work Wista international is doing in Africa, reaching out to women in Maritme and trade,” she said.

The event was held at 39th Wista international Annual General meeting at Grand Cayman Islands.

She has served on the Executive Committee since 2015.

Naa Densua Aryeetey is the head of Shippers Services and Trade Facilitation at Ghana Shippers Authority

Desipina Panayiotu Theodosia (Wista Cyprus) and Chief Executive Officer of Tototheo Maritime was re-elected to a second term as President of Wista International.

The conference was also well attended by Wista Ghana members including Mrs Esther Gyebi Donkor, General Manager of GPHA, Deputy CEO of Ghana Shippers Authority, Mrs Asana Owu, President of Wista Ghana Jemilat Mahama and many more.

Wista International is the leading network of decision-making women in shipping and trading around the world.

WISTA International is guided by the Executive Committee made up of Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou as President, Alexandra Anagnostis-Irons of Wista USA as Secretary and Connie Roozen of Wista Netherlands as Treasurer.

The members are Fabiana Simões Martins of WISTA Brazil, Naa Densua Aryeetey of WISTA Ghana, Sanjam Gupta of WISTA India and Angie Hartmann of WISTA Hellas.

Representing more than 3,000 members in 49 countries around the world, WISTA promotes increased competency, knowledge and development for women in the maritime industry.

WISTA International members work in all sectors of the maritime industry, including finance, ship building, seafarers, governing and regulatory bodies, brokers and more.

The international body meets annually to vote on protocols, guidelines and strategic direction.

Thirty countries were represented at the 2019 International Annual Meeting.

More than 200 individuals attended the parallel conference ‘Founded Upon The Seas’ hosted by WISTA Cayman Islands.
