Westline Entertainment, organizers of the annual music awards in Western Region, are all set for the third edition slated for Saturday, May 11 at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi.

Dubbed Rigworld Training Centre (RTC) Western Music Awards, this year’s awards ceremony would begin with a red carpet event.

There will be three new categories – Urban Gospel Song of the Year, Afropop Song of the year and Brassband of the Year – to add to the 23 for this year’s event.

According to Westline Entertainment, these new categories will help other genres in the industry to be recognized as well including the flagship Lifetime Achievement Awards, which would be presented to three legends from the Western Region.

Patrons would be treated to a total of 22 artistes’ performances on the night.

Amongst some of the performers billed are A.B Crentsil, Kofi Bentil, Ayesem, Fameye, Nero X, El Manuel, Mrs. Suzzie Arthur, Dope nation, amongst others.

“There would be performances from each genre,” said Nana Kwesi Coomson, Public relations Officer of Western Entertainment.

“Patrons would experience at least one performance from an artiste in all the genres in the categories. There would be an all-female performance and some exciting performances on the night too. We are all set for the night and we promise you an exciting experience,” he added.

With the tagline ‘The Best Comes From The West’, the third edition of the awards is expecting over 1,000 patrons on the night.

Tickets for the awards are available at Justmax Travel and Tours and All Needs Supermarket, all in Takoradi and goes for GH¢50 and GH¢100 for standard and VIP respectively.
