Connect FM’s Community Street Rap: Underground artistes continue to wow fans

It was all fun at the Kwesimintsim Lorry Park last Saturday as the Community Street Rap Battle train made its second stop in the community. The crowd could not resist the scintillating performances as they chanted the names of their favourite underground rap artistes. In all, 16 underground rap artistes represented various hoods in the Zone. The competition had three sessions: the first round is the Freestyle Session, where artistes were made to do a capella; the second session was performances with beats while the third session was dubbed the ‘The Real Battle’. With the third session, rappers were made to battle each other with some serious punch lines to know whether they have what it takes to be crowned king and this was the most interesting session. They competitores dazzled the crowd with one lyrical bar to the other. After close to three-and-half hours of performances, Kwesimintsim showed their prowess to tell they really have what it takes to take the bragging right from Effiakuma, which has been tagged as the cradle of rap music in Sekondi-Takoradi. After an immense competition among the 16 underground rap artistes who stepped up to show what they are made of, Crown Buka, King Zuba and Ladsmid, who participated in the 2018 edition, made it to the semifinals.
