The Office of the NPP parliamentary candidate for Agona West in the Central Region, Mr. Chris Arthur, has implored the general public to totally disregard what it terms “frivolous and unfounded allegations” by the opposition NDC targeted at Mr. Arthur.

The Office has called out one Harrison Aglago, a failed Communications Officer aspirant of the NDC in the Agona West for being behind the “false and unsubstantiated allegations” being circulated on various online news portals and WhatsApp platforms.

The NDC man is also said to have urged the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the NPP PC of Agona West due to his numerous philanthropic activities, questioning his source of funds.

But in a statement to dismiss the various allegations on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Mr. Arthur’s Office rather dared his accusers to expect more of such benevolent activities geared towards transforming lives.

“We therefore would like to reiterate that these frivolous and unfounded allegations by the NDC will not distract the good and impactful work of our PC. Hon. Chris is not perturbed at all to lose focus.

“In fact, the NDC should rather expect more developmental initiatives and projects in the coming days. The NPP and the PC are committed to bringing relief to the constituents while solving society’s problems.”

The statement denied suggestion that Chris Arthur may be diverting state resources to boost his campaign. The Office explained that the activities of the parliamentary candidate are funded by his own hard earned resources and supports from philanthropists who believe in him and have full confidence in his transformative agenda.

Re: Harrison Aglago Urges NIB to Investigate Agona West NPP PC over Misuse of Taxpayer Money

The office of the Agona West NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Chris Arthur has come across some false and unsubstantiated allegations being circulated on various online news portals and WhatsApp platforms made by one Harrison Aglago, a former Communication Officer Aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Agona West Constituency, urging the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the NPP PC of Agona West Constituency.

We state emphatically that the allegations are blatantly false with just a mere intention to score cheap political points.

Although the NPP PC, Mr. Chris Arthur is well known for his benevolence, supports bereaved families with some donations both in kind and cash across the constituency, he has never made any funeral donation to the tune of GHc 10,000 as claimed by Harrison.

Again, through the lobbying skills of Chris Arthur, he assists qualified needy but brilliant tertiary schools applicants (Universities, Nursing and Colleges of Education) to purchase admission forms, supports them in fees payment through his Chriscares foundation, he has never paid any bribe to nursing training college for admission as claimed. This is therefore a serious allegation which indicts and undermine the credibility and integrity of Heads our tertiary schools.

It must be stated clearly that YEA does not have or distribute Sewing machines, standing fans and hair dryers. It is therefore false to claim that those items were stolen from YEA to be distributed to the youth of Agona West. As a matter of fact, such items are fully donated by Chris Arthur, his own resources as well as support from other philanthropies, individuals, agencies and institutions through Chriscares foundation. Such wonderful initiative is indeed making tremendous impacts in the lives of all beneficiaries within the constituency which the NDCs and Harrison Aglago attest.  We reiterate that YEA has not procured even a single sewing machine or hair dryer since 2012 till date

The party is very disappointed in part of the false claims and allegations made by Harrison Aglago against the NPP PC.

On the other hand, we’re happy the NDC recognises and attesting with much appreciation to the good developmental and life transforming initiatives and projects executed by our parliamentary candidate, Hon. Chris Arthur. This is a clear sign of jealousy and complete hatred grounded on the fact that the NDC is unable to do same.

We therefore would like to reiterate that these frivolous and unfounded allegations by the NDC will not distract the good and impactful work of our PC. Hon. Chris is not perturbed at all to lose focus.

In fact, the NDC should rather expect more developmental initiatives and projects in the coming days. The NPP and the PC are committed to bringing relief to the constituents while solving society’s problems.

We advise the NDC to rather focus on their failed campaign instead of this unsubstantiated target or attempt to score political points.
