Prophet Daniels writes: The music industry vs the music ministry

The music industry is a general term for all the parties involved in the creation, performance, recording, promotion, and managing the profitable business of music.

I think the ‘call to ministry’ as designated for selected individuals is misleading. All Christians are called into ministry because all Christians have spiritual gifts that are to be employed for service to the body of Christ as in 1 Peter 4:10. That doesn’t require some specified direction but a working out of those gifts as we grow in our Christian walk and seek to serve the body.

1 Corinthians 12:12-24 identifies that everyone has a part to play in the growth of the body as in Ephesians 4:16. I don’t dismiss the fact that God may have specific roles or even specialized ministries that he directs us to, but it is more indicative of our progress in the faith. Here are some few tips to note about both industry & ministry personnel’s.

1. Everybody can be part. 2. One must not necessarily be born again and it’s not about calling it’s about talents & skills. 3. One must not necessarily live a godly life 4. One must be a good entertainer and crowd mover 5. Focus is make more money. 6. Not eternity minded and heaven conscious. 7. One does not think about accountability and judgments someday. 8. Unhealthy competition. 9. it is about I ,me & self. 10. Enticing wisdom of men. 11. Rely on beef for fame. 12. Accepts every invitation and goes to every program.

Ministry Personnel’s

1. Everybody cannot be part 2. One must be born again & understand that he or she has been called to minister in songs. 3. it’s a must to live godly. 4. One must be led to minister in other to please god & move him. 5. The focus is god & souls. 6. One must be eternity minded and heavenly conscious. 7. One is aware of accountability and judgments someday. 8. Healthy competition. 9. it’s about God & us (kingdom). 10. Holy spirit inspired songs. 11.work hard, excellent packaging, pray more and believe God for the rest if it comes praise God if it doesn’t eternity is the focus not all of us will be famous across the nations. 12. Does not honor every invitation so long us the program does not seek to honor god.

Over the years many things have changed but it was not like these some years past.

A generation have risen who thinks to be very smart therefore they have found suitable bible verses to build an edge around them where they now do the work of the ministry with the heart of the industry ( a charge for everything ) which is very worrisome but I see a generation rising who shall rather change the face of the industry with the heart of the ministry.

One must know when to charge, who to charge, how to charge and where to charge & when to minister without taking anything but see it as a seed. I believe that the church must honor and pay some workers in the music department but a number of factors must be considered all for the sake and betterment of the kingdom but my advice to musicians and instrumentalists who play at church should first see that it is a call into ministry and the service is unto God therefore money must not be the motive and motivation for serving the Lord.
