Two supporters of Aduana FC have been confirmed dead following an accident involving a tricycle they were returning home in.
Numbered five, the supporters of the Dormaa-based side were travelling back home after the 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko.
They were said to have travelled from Aboaso Zongo to support their iconic midfielder Seidu Saana.
“We are aware of the incident involving some of our fans at Aboaso in the Ashanti Region last night,” Aduana FC said in a club notice on Monday, November 17.
“We regret to announce that two of the fans have lost their lives and two others are currently on admission at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital responding to treatment,” the notice issued by Corporate Affairs and External Relations Manager Evans Oppong said.
“We are in constant touch with the families and relevant stakeholders and will provide updates as and when we receive them.”
The club wished the bereaved families “strength and empathy” while praying for speedy recovery for the injured.
