Ghanaian musician Captain Planet (4×4) has sparked widespread debate after expressing shock over the revealing outfits worn by some attendees at the Tidal Rave festival held Saturday, November 14, at La Palm Beach.
In a post on X, the artiste questioned whether the young women he saw in images from the event were “models or pornstars,” writing, “I just dey see some dressings from yesterday’s Tidal Rave. Chale, some of these small small girls, I don’t know whether them be models or pornstars. What the hell is happening in Ghana?”
His comments drew mixed reactions. Supporters agreed with his concerns about public decency and cultural values, while critics accused him of being out of touch with modern fashion trends, noting that the event took place at a beach where lighter clothing is typical.
The incident has renewed national conversations about dress codes at entertainment events, especially those popular among young people. Some argue that attendees should have the freedom to express themselves through fashion, while others insist that certain standards should still be upheld.
Despite the controversy, the 2025 Tidal Rave recorded huge attendance and featured performances from Shatta Wale, Black Sherif, Moliy, Gyakie, Darko Vibes, OlivetheBoy and Nigerian singer Ayra Starr.
The event was organized in partnership with the Black Star Experience, which celebrated music, fashion and entertainment.
