The Ghana Police Service has dismissed reports that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, is deceased.
“The IGP is alive and well and going about his duties as expected,” the police said in a statement on Sunday,November 30.
“We urge our officers, family members, loved ones, and the general public to disregard these reports.”
The police cautioned persons behind the “malicious, insensitive, and reckless” reports to note that their act constitutes an offence under the country’s laws.
Therefore, “perpetrators will be brought to justice when identified”.
IGP Yohuno was recently recommended by the Police Council for a tenure extension and this was approved by President John Dramani Mahama.
