Croatia Manager Zlatko Dalic has opened up on his knowledge about Ghana, revealing his time with Asamoah Gyan at Al Ain.
He admitted that the 2026 FIFA World Cup game between his nation and the Black Stars at the group phase will not be easy.
The 2018 World Cup finalists were on Friday drawn alongside the Black Stars in Group L.
The two sides will face off in the final group game at the global showpiece next year.
Addressing the press after the draw, Zlatko Dalic he didn’t expect to meet Ghana in the draw.
“I didn’t care too much about Ghana,” he told the press after the draw at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
“I know my friend Asamoah Gyan, he played with me when I was in Al Ain. I know it will be a very tough game, especially [because the] Ghana team is very strong, very fast.
“It won’t be easy for us. We must do we’ll to check this team.”
He, however, indicated that they will take each game step-by-step in order to make it out of the group, knowing very we that Ghana has the same goal.
“Our goal, our target is to give step by step,not busy. Maybe it will be a little easy because it wi be the third game in the group stage, so much easy for the next step but full respect for the Ghana team. I know it will not be an easy match.”
Croatia will play England and Panama before the clash against the Black Stars on Saturday, June 27.
