The Black Queens have moved up five places in the latest FIFA Women’s Rankings released on Thursday, December 11.
The WAFCON 2024 Bronze medallists were 67th in the last edition released on Thursday, August 7.
They, however, climbed five places up to 62nd in the latest rankings.
This improved ranking comes after the 2-0 defeat to England’s Lionesses, who are still 4th in the world.
But home-and-away wins over Egypt in the qualifiers for the 2026 WAFCON gave the senior national women’s soccer team more points.
They also move 3rd on the continent behind Nigeria and South Africa, both dropping on the table.
Only Zambia joined Ghana as the countries in the continent’s Top 5 to have climbed on the rankings.
Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses, who follow the Shepolopolo in 5th also dropped in the world rankings.
Spain remain the Number 1 side in the world, followed by USA.
Germany, England and Sweden, in that order, complete the world’s Top 5.
