The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has given instructions for the Kwame Danso Police Station and the District Police Headquarters to be closed.
Personnel have been reassigned to other parts of the Bono East Region until further notice, the IGP further ordered.
This follows a violent mob attack on Wednesday, December 10.
According to a police statement issued by the Acting Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Bono East Regional Command, ASP Appiah Danquah, it all started at about 10:30am while the Kwame Danso District Court was in session.
An irate mob of about 100 youths is said to have besieged the court premises, attacked persons at the court and vandalized furniture, fans and other items on sight.
The mob also forcibly took away two accused persons who were standing trial and assaulted the complainant in the case.
The youth later attacked two officers who were on duty at the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters and vandalized the police station.
According to the statement, a reinforcement team from the Atebubu Division, together with a detachment of the Formed Police Units (FPUs), was called to restore calm and order.
The Regional Command assured the public that it will pursue and track down all persons connected to the criminal act.
It also assured that perpetrators will be identified, arrested and made to face the full consequences of the law.
