Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Sarah Adwoa Safo insists it is time for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to be President of Ghana.
“I won’t lie to you all here and this is a fact,” she said over the weekend in a meeting with delegates in the constituency.
She stressed that she does not hate Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, one of the five flagbearer aspirants in the January 31 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries, although she has two kids with him.
“But I will not do family and friends because we did similar in government. Did that help us?”
The former Deputy Majority Leader observed that upon all her curriculum vitae, assuming Ken Agyapong is elected President, he will never appoint her to any ministerial position.
She explained that such a move, especially having had two children with the former Assin Central MP, will breed disaster in the country.
“My political career is at stake and my future is at stake and my future is with Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia,” she ended to loud cheers and applause from the delegates gathered.
Aside Ken Agyapong and Dr Bawumia, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Dr Bryan Acheampong are the other aspirants.
The flagbearer to be elected on Saturday, January 31 will lead the party into the 2028 polls.
