Fifteen persons were arrested on Friday following disturbances around the Ho Central Mosque in the Volta Region capital.
The disturbances were characterised by the firing of gunshots, leaving a number of residents around the mosque injured.
It is unclear what the cause of the incident is but NewsfileGH gathers it may have to do with the selection of the next regional Chief Imam.
A joint security force made up of the police and the military was called in to restore law and order.
The incident has, however, left residents terrified as the tension can be felt in the area.
