The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced an adjustment in the prices of selected identification services, citing the need to maintain and improve service delivery.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, the Authority said the revised fees will apply to:
- First-time registration,
- Personal information updates,
- Replacement of cards,
- Nationality updates
- Non-citizen card registration
According to the NIA, the price increment is part of measures aimed at sustaining operational efficiency and enhancing the quality of services provided to the public. The Authority did not disclose the new rates or the exact date the adjustments will take effect.
The NIA appealed to the public for understanding, stressing that the decision was taken after careful consideration of rising operational costs and the need to ensure reliable and timely service delivery nationwide.
The Authority also expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation and support of the public as it works to strengthen Ghana’s national identification system.
The National Identification Authority is responsible for the registration of citizens and lawful residents and the issuance of Ghana Cards, which serve as the country’s primary national identification document.
