All five aspirants of the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to, among others, rally behind the winner.
The ceremony takes place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Thursday, January 22.
The flagbearer aspirants will also pledge to accept the results of the crucial internal elections on Saturday, January 31.
The five aspirants are Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Dr Bryan Acheampong, another former MP, and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, a former Vice President and the party’s 2024 Presidential Candidate.
The rest are Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, current MP for Bosomtwe and a former Minister of Education, and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the NPP.
The signing of the peace pact follows a similar gesture ahead of the 2024 primaries.
Tensions have risen particularly between supporters of Ken Agyapong and Dr Bawumia with the camp of the latter recently calling out Mr Agyapong for spuing falsehood about their candidate.
