President John Dramani Mahama has left Accra for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the invitation of the Ruler of UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan.
President Mahama is expected to participate in the World Governments Summit 2026 from Monday, February 2 to Wednesday, February 4 while in Dubai.
According a press release issued by the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, His Highness the Ruler of UAE is providing a special aircraft for the transport of Ghana’s leader.
That aircraft will also be available, according to the statement, as President Mahama travels from Dubai to Zambia from Wednesday to Friday, February 6 for a state visit.
The three-day state visit is at the invitation of Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema.
“During the visit, President Mahama will hold bilateral talks with President Hakainde Hichilema on matters of mutual interest, including strengthening of diplomatic relations, enhancing trade and investment cooperation, and exploring collaborative opportunities within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA).
“A key highlight of the visit will be an address to the National Assembly of Zambia, where he is expected to share Ghana’s vision for a more integrated and prosperous Africa.”
While in Lusaka, President Mahama will interact with the Ghanaian community.
