The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced the successful evacuation of all staff of the Ghana Embassy in Iran.
This follows the escalation of tensions in the country as the conflict with Israel heightens.
Countries whose citizens are resident in the Middle Eastern nation have triggered evacuation efforts to get them out for the safety of lives.
“I am delighted to announce that we have conducted a successful evacuation of all our embassy staff in Iran,” Ghana’s Foreign Minister wrote on his official Facebook page on Monday, March 2.
“The Ghanaian diplomats are safe and in high spirits.”
He further announced that the Embassy has been closed “sine die”.
“The safety, welfare and protection of Ghanaians remains our utmost priority in these tempestuous times.”
