The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has met the country’s Ambassadors and Consuls-generals over the tensions in Middle East.
The meeting, held virtually, was to assess the rising tension in the Gulf region and the impact on Ghanaian citizens living there.
It was joined by the Heads of Mission for Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Iran and Turkey.
Taking to his official Facebook page after the meeting, Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa wrote that so far no Ghanaian has been injured nor killed amid the conflict.
“We have put together a reliable database of all Ghanaians in these countries including those who were on short visits and those who were transiting,” he wrote.
“All missions have been tasked to identify Ghanaians within their jurisdictions who wish to be evacuated for the urgent consideration of government.”
Meanwhile, Ghana’s diplomatic missions are said to be currently assisting a considerable number of Ghanaians escape across certain strategic border crossings.
“The safety and welfare of all Ghanaians remains our utmost priority,” Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa wrote on Tuesday, March 3.
