Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North Constituency Kwame Ohene Frimpong has been detained at Schipol Airport in the Netherlands for yet-to-be-known reasons.
The lawmaker was detained on arrival at the airport.
According to a statement from Parliament, the Speaker and leadership of the House are in touch with Ghana’s Mission in The Hague “for detailed information on the matter”.
“The public will be duly informed appropriately on this matter,” the statement signed by Clerk to Parliament Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror said.
Kwame Ohene Frimpong won the 2024 Parliamentary elections by beating New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Andy Appiah Kubi.
He had contested the renown lawyer in primaries but lost before beating him in the December 7, 2024 polls.
