Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced a 24-hour shutdown of the Dodowa Booster Station beginning Thursday, July 9 to allow its Engineering Team carry out scheduled maintenance works.
In a press release issued in Accra on Tuesday, July 7, management of GWL said the exercise is aimed at improving the operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the water supply system.
As a result of the works, customers in communities supplied by the Dodowa Booster Station will experience temporary interruption of water supply or reduced water pressure throughout the period of work.
The affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa, and all adjoining communities served by the station.
GWL has advised customers to store sufficient water ahead of the planned shutdown and to use available supply judiciously throughout the maintenance period.
The company assured the public that its engineers would work diligently to complete the exercise within the scheduled timeframe and restore normal water supply immediately the works are completed.
Management, in the statement, regretted the inconvenience the temporary interruption may cause and appreciated the patience, understanding, and cooperation of customers as the company undertakes the essential maintenance works to improve the reliability and quality of water service delivery.
