If your radio dial wasn’t on 3FM 92.7 on Tuesday, January 7 – Constitution Day – you obviously missed a lot.

It was a total takeover! Three of Ghana’s finest actors and one of the country’s best DJs took over the only urban blend radio station!

As a station that has the listener and entertainment at heart, 3FM gave Nii Ayi Tagoe, James Gardiner, Juliet Ibrahim and Kalybos arduous task of filling the shoes of the regular hosts of shows on the platform.

Nii Ayi Tagoe took over Mariam Osei Agyemang’s show Urban Blend while James Gardiner, Juliet Ibrahim and Kalybos handled Giovani’s drive time show, the 3FM Drive turning the original host a producer for the day.

Nii Ayi is no new customer to radio and playing music. His rich experience in the various fields quickly came to bear as he activated the mic some few minutes after 10:00 a.m.

He never lost steam after that. He dished out the best music he had to offer and with a careful blend of good talk and phone-ins, he held Accra down!

After the two-hour impressive show, the ‘Grandmaster’ as he is affectionately called, handled the hosting baton to James Gardiner, Juliet Ibrahim and Kalybos.

It was James Gardiner and Ernestina, an avid listener of 3FM, who got the show on the road. James, who had a short stint in radio before acting, showed that if he has continued on that road, would have effortlessly excelled.

He manned the show as if it was his full time job. As he was cruising comfortably behind the microphone, clearly well orchestrated, comical actor Kalybos joined the show.

The two instantaneously turned things a notch higher. It was non-stop music; comedy and drama live on 3FM!

On the day, Kalybos showed off an interesting side that most people didn’t know about him. He took over the DJ’s turntable to dish out his own selection. A future behind the turntables wouldn’t be bad for him.

Even on a holiday, some entertainment personalities were not spared on the usual radio pranks, which is the hallmark of Giovani.

James Gardiner and Kalybos, during the show, successfully pranked their colleagues Moesha Buduong, Beverly Afaglo, Salma Mumin, and musician Patapaa.

The third person to join the party was actress Juliet Ibrahim. As soon as she entered the studio, she took over the hosting of the show.

During a Q&A session, a listener asked Kalybos ‘the silliest thing he did for love?’

The comical actor revealed that, he used his school fees to buy wig – Peruvian hair – for the girlfriend. Kalybos narrated that, after they broke up he went back for it, originally it was 16 inch but when got it, it had reduced to 14 inch.

That revelation cracked everyone up.

After four hours of non-stop music and fun, the three famous movie personalities bid farewell to the show and its listeners.

They admitted that hosting Accra’s biggest drive was a fun and memorable one for them.
